The Cost of Incarceration to Children

When a parent is incarcerated, families face overwhelming financial and emotional burdens:

Incarceration and Poverty Are Linked Together. That’s why we allow students in low-income neighborhoods around our school to enroll as well.

Children are often the hidden victims.
They struggle academically.
They battle anxiety and fear.
Children with incarcerated parents are up to 7 times more likely to follow their parents into jail or prison by their 23rd birthday.


High school dropouts are 3.5x more likely to commit a crime than students who graduate.


But it doesn’t have to be this way.
